Default Fixed headlight conversion project

Ive been wanting to do this for a long time now. The only available ones look like crap and cost a fortune. Right now I'm in the research and design phase. I found some decent looking and small enough HID housing's with halo's (
Amazon Amazon
) but they look to be cheaply made. I would like to get a spare set of headlights to send off so I can get the lid turned into a cad profile. I would like to sell these to the public eventually, so any input is appreciated.

im interested, but those halos are junk, and those are 4" diameter projectors. if you want real halo's for the project hit me up, and I can help you out.

I really dont want halo's, and yea like I said those look cheap. Looking for HID projectors really, something like this maybe:

I dont know much about lights, always been in to engines and machining/fabricating things to make power and go faster. The 2.5" diameter will also allow for a more sleek look than the 4". What did you have in mind?

I also want to do an amber LED strip/city light at the front of the housing.

These look nice:http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b...FQSxnQodbEwj9g

Found an old friend who can do the lens cover for a decent price. Just have to do an order of 30 up front. Going to make two or three prototype sets.

These look really good and have tons of options, even an amber halo which could nix the LED. I guess options could be had for each individual buyer. They have a D2S and H1...Im not sure which is better or preferred. They both have halo options, H4, but the D2S has many ballast options including a 55W version. Guess I need to read up on HID stuff tonight.

there is no reason to do a 55 watt. i sell hid kits as well as custom halo setups (no not that preinstalled ebay crap)as a part time gig. all they do is produce more heat. they arent really any brighter, and dont light up the road anymore than a 35watt kit. i have run 55's and 35's

From all the comparo pics I saw theres not much difference in the h1 and d2s projectors. Do you have anything like that morimoto D2S or H1 in an H4 kit form? Maybe we can help eachother out. PM me if you want

Yea my thoughts now are to do a few options, all of which can have the lens not attached so the owner can have them color matched to the car. Looking at making the inner cover out of carbon so they would be black if you chose not to paint them. Another thought was to just do a bare bones headlight and the buyer can purchase the projector separately and do whatever they like with it lighting wise.

And the creme de la creme will be one that does away with the dtrl/blinker and fog light, (the led strip will act as the running light/blinker) and a ram air intake will take their place. Thats a whole different project though, once this one is almost done.

They were originally planned for the 98 Firehawks- I think they only made one or two sets. There was a red one on the cover of high performance Pontiac in 97 that just looked scary. I saw them on display it the Tri Power nationals / Firehawk gathering a few years ago. I think they were going to cost too much to produce

These? Look goofy as well IMO. Better than breathless' by a little bit

picture that, with two round projectors sunk back further with the lens shape the same as the lid in the closed position. With a carbon shroud on the inside with some nice curves that flow from the outer profile to the round projector.

I plan on doing some drawing tonight to get the look nailed down. Ordered a set of D2S projectors since they have a lot more options for them. It was suggested by my source for lights/projectors to just sell the headlight housing and let the customer buy their own HID kit as some people might want to go the cheap $50 ebay route. I went with a denso 35w ballast. Im a firm believer in you get what you pay for.
