Default Just Bought a WS6

It's a 2001 A4 with 65k miles. Unknown catback, lid, and dyno tuned to 320 rwhp and 344 rwtq. Previous owner also installed front and rear HD Bilsteins shocks and energy suspension bushings for the torque arm and panhard bar. I bought it in Northern California and drove it 1 hour and a half back to where I was staying and then the next day drove it over 200 of the planned 450 or so miles back home. It was running way too hot to make it all the way. Also 4th gear or overdrive slips sometimes. But I have a national warranty on it, so it's all good. It was worth the trouble. Good power, can't hear any piston slap either. The exhaust is ok, I think I wanna get a GMMG though. I paid $11,500 cash for it. Don't have many pics yet except dealer pics.

Anyone know what kind of wheels those are?

Looks like a very clean car. Good find and strong numbers for a few bolt-ons.

Looks nice! You paid a decent price for a dealership car provided your 'problems' aren't serious. I just hope your warranty is the real deal. Many 'aftermarket' types are worthless or they give you lots of grief. Enjoy the ride and best of luck!

Beautiful car, congrats looks just like mine  but the slipping trans at only 65k would concern me as would the running way too hot after 200 miles. Might wana flush and change out the fluids.

Thanks guys, the temp was 230-245 on the freeway and rising very slowly. I know that can be okay in stop and go, but this was cruising. Never driven a car that gets that hot on the freeway, including all the f-bodies I've driven which are under 210 on the freeway due to the air movement and everything. I know the gauges aren't super accurate in the ls1, but still. And it was actually closer to 300 miles. I plan to change all fluids, including the rear diff and fuel filter, as well as check my condenser and radiator for debris soon. May have the dealership do that when they do the other stuff. I too hope that the warranty is good.

If you haven't figured out your cooling issue, check the level of your coolant. I had the same issue happen to me when I brought my car from El Paso TX to OKC, about an 11 hour drive. My car would never heat up in the city, and once I got on the highway for a few hours driving through midday Texas heat my temp started rising a little. The only way to keep it down was to turn on my fans on high and turn off the AC, pulled up to a gas station and it was missing about 1/4 of a gallon. Threw that in and it was fine after that!

Nice looking car, and some awesome numbers! As soon as you get those issues resolved you should get some track times.

Thanks. Gonna do things a little differently this time around. Only suspension mods, GMMG, and eventually 3.73 gears and perhaps even a yank stall. So motor wise I plan to keep it stock, I'm even keeping the manifolds.

Nice car, too bad about the slipping trans though.
GMMG though is gone though. Power Stick or Stainless Works are chambered, check them out.

Thansk, and Sorry forgot to update this thread about the problems. It was a bad waterpump replaced under my short warranty. The hotter temps caused the TC in the trans to not lock up or something. Waterpump solved everything.

GMMG is gone, but their original supplier still sells the catbacks:

For some reason my car has a Firehawk emblem on it. It's not a Firehawk but I thought it was strange that it was painted to match and everything.
