Too much air comes in behind my interior door pull handle when the car is moving. I didn't reach over and try the passenger side b/c I could not reach and things would have got ugly. I can't imagine this is normal?

i wonder if the plastic sheet has been taken off your door panel and not replaced .

Either the plastic sheet, or, I wonder if there is a foam pad that surrounds the door handle where it connects to the door, under the panel. I have never had a panel off of my Bird (knock on wood that it never cracks), but I remember other cars I have worked on having a foam pad that slides over the handle and sits between the plastic panel and the actual door metal.
