Trans-Am Differential ???
Hello, I bought a 89 Trans-Am with a LS1/T56. I see that my differential is leaking. As you can see from the photos, there is a leak near the driving shaft (where you can read Borg Warner) and near the brake right. I want to know that it is the model of my differential and what did I need to change the seals. I know it is written on the Borg Warner differential, but that's all I know.
I wonder if it would be possible that this is a rear end of the fourth generation, because the brakes are a larger diameter at the rear than the front.
I put several pictures I hope it will be able to help you, I can take the other if need.
thank you

You have a BW 9bolt rear axle with the good PBR caliper disc brakes. By the looks of the brake dust shield its a 89.
The axle seal should be fixed. Its easy to pull the axle out on this rearend because they don't have C clips. They do have pressed on bearings which need cut off and new ones pressed on with new seals..
Thats fairly easy.
The diff cover and yoke seal are a bit more work but worth it.
I would grab a factory service manual from Helm, INC for the correct ways to fix the other things.
