Turn signal switch replacement issue
So I've made it all the way down to the turn signal switch, and what appeared in reading a pretty well done write up on doing the job left out what seems to be a major issue for me: getting the old wiring/connector down the raceway and out the front of the steering wheel. The writeup acts like it just comes right out: if it did for him, it certainly isn't for me!!!
Is there a trick to it? Am I missing some really easy take apart plastic doohickey??
Help?

I did manage to finally get the wiring through, and I was lucky enough to get it almost all the way back together before I noticed that I had pinched the ignition wire hard enough to need to take it all the way back apart... oy...

Wonderful! I have it all back together now, I still have the EXACT SAME PROBLEM as before, after all that work, and as an added bonus, I now have an AIR BAG light.... FML.
