Default 2000 trans am performance upgrades

I rencently purchased a 2000 trans am. I'm new to the v8 world and I was wondering what were some non-expensive ways to squeeze more performance from the car?

An air lid is the cheapest way to gain 10 hp for under $100.

Do some good maintanance first plugs, wires, and a good oil change. From there go to the exhaust side and a cold air intake (lid as mentioned above^)
