Default Rear marker lights dont work

Hey guys, i changed the bulbs for my rear marker lights, i think they were 197 bulbs, both were blown. but they wont work. the socket on the drivers side was corroded, i cleaned it and applied some dielectric grease. but no luck. any help would be great

Thanks,
R

PS. its a 2000 T/A

I'm pretty sure the rear marker lights are 194 not 197. Not sure if it makes a difference

I think the bulbs can go in backwards too... might want to take em out and spin them 180 degrees
