Default Y-pipe and short headers question

So I have a Magnaflow exhaust on my 2002 TransAm. I also have shorty headers (came with the car). I need a Y-pipe with a cat to connect the two. Can this be done, or do I need to get longtubes then the Y-pipe to connect to my current exhaust? SLP has longtube headers and Y-pipe combo for $1400.00, but I am looking at my options.

I would just go ahead and get long tubes. You will see a nice performance gain and everything will fit together with little to no issues.

Unless you want the best of the best, get a pacesetter or TSP LT and y pipe combo for like half the price of those slp's

If you would ever do longtubes, this would be a perfect time to do it. If not (or if you have strict emissions), just throw on factory cats and Y-pipe.

I would like to go longtubes-but I was told its about 15hrs worth of labor to do so (including the Y-pipe). So I am looking at my options. If I can just get the Y-pipe for now to fit the short headers, I will be happy. I can do the longtubes at a latter time.
I am also looking at getting a Y-pipe made to fit the short headers too.
