Default power steering disappearance

hey guys, I have a thing going on that I just cant seem to find an answer to....... last night I was driving and at one second the power steering was there and the next, it was gone! no whine, no noise, no warning what so ever. there's fluid in the res. but there looks to be a leak going down to the rack.......... anyone else have this happen? the car is an 02 with 63,000 on it. any advise is going to be extremely appreciated.

Put the front up on stands and work the steering and see if you can duplicate the problem. Also check the pulley on the pump and make sure there is no free play/wobble. Have someone else turning the wheel for you so you can look at the rack

Well I think I found the problem. I took the advise and pulled the pulley completely out
