Default 2000 Trans Am "Black Betty"

Back in Oct 13' I sold my Camaro z28 to buy a shortbed c10. After having the c10 for a couple of months, I got tired of not having a car to enjoy on my days off due to the fact of the c10 being a slow build. After scoring the interwebz I found a decent Trans am that just needs some good ole TLC for a pretty decent price.

I've never owned a trans am before, but I have owned several Ls vehicles, so I cant find stuff on the search tab Ill be asking people for help on certain things. I want to just do some little mods here and there to make her look decent and run better than stock.

Here are some pics.

She was pretty stock and had decent miles on her for her age, pretty decent carfax as well, considering its hard to find non-wrecked fbodies now a days. Non-Salvaged title car!

She needs more cosmetic TLC than anything. I'll be posting pics of the things I do to her and things I purchase for her as I go alone.

Some goodies I've got so far...
Much needed new plugs

Smooth bellow

Brand new SLP lid

New GM front filler with mirror polish stainless bird insert. This was sitting in original owners garage since brand new, no rock chips or scratches, got a real good deal on it!

Got a brand new set of never been used Corsa tips waiting to go on the car.

dang son, that car needs some compound and polish. looks like it will be a nice car once it's cleaned up. you should do a Superhawk Hood from Roger @ USExotics, the plain hood just doesn't feel right on a T/A.

Def would love the superhawk hood, I'm trying to see if I can get a deal on a regular ws6 hood locally. Car def needs a wetsand and buff, but I may end up plasti dipping the car, still not too sure. I kinda liked the blue plasti dip or camo green.

I'm guessing youre talking about the headlight conversion, the one that I bought is from Hawks 3rd gen, I never knew you could buy LMC lenses, I guess I should've done a lil more research.

Ha, that's cool. When I first saw the swirls in the paint and the rock chips on the stock hood, I called her ugly betty when I went to test drive her, but then decided to change it to Black Betty since I will be making her look sexy in no time!

these are what I was talking about https://ls1tech.com/forums/appearanc...p-updated.html to me the lenses just look better, and I like the way the bulb is held in better.

Next thing you need to get is a DA and a good 2 stage paint correction polish kit. That will make the black paint look like new.

Finally was able to get the hood painted locally, paint came out great. I also had the guy paint my Trans Am lettering in Jetstream Blue and slightly tinted my side markers.

I decided to replace my rear cargo carpet area, I wasn't too happy with the one it had so I got a deal on a nearly new one.

Old one...

Are you going to address the bad swirl marks and marring on the paint? In my opinion, it's going to stick out even more with a freshly painted hood.

Yes sir, the whole car is going to be sanded and buffed, just haven't had chance to drop off car at detailers, wanting to do other things here and there before taking it.
