Default Fan Relay

2001 Trans Am.

If one of my fan relays is bad - would that throw a code if I had the computer scanned?

Also, the way I understand it - the fan has two speeds - why three relays?

Thanks!
Dan

Default

The PCM only grounds the powered coils of the relays so no, a bad relay or fan shouldn't be able to set a code.

Three relays are used because they run in low speed in series and high speed in parallel. Can't be done with two relays.
