just bought an 02 ws6, 105,000 on it. help
1. it shifts hard from 1st to 2nd, dealer said it had a shift kit, but i dont trust nothn the dealer said lol
2. wat is this? (see below} i was told it is an torque arm and chassis mount. thats cool and all but what is it supposed to do? i can feel it rattling around over bumps n stuff, i was told it should have some 'play' to it.

He meant to say umi torque arm. Its just an aftermarket torque arm. And when he said relocation he meant it has a relocation crossmember so the torque isnt on the tailshaft of the trans

Welcome to LS1tech Fireman!
The third & fourth generation F-body cars have a torque arm rear suspension.
The rear has two lower control arms to the chassis/body, a track (panhard) bar and a torque arm the comes off the differential and attaches to a point on the transmission.
On these cars, the point at the transmission is a rubber block that allows the arm to slide a bit forward and rearward.
The original setup is OK for stock setups but most folks change the fronts to poly bushings.
Many people replace everything with tubular arms from UMI or BMR performance.

A hard 1-2 shift can be pretty common with the 4l60e. Does it get better as it warms up? Do a search and your will find many topics on this. I'm on my phone but when I get home I have a pretty helpful thread bookmarked on my computer.
