Default LS1 Top End Rebuild Kit

I dont know if this is the correct thread but I might be doing a rebuild on a Trans Am i might get. Its a 2001 Trans Am WS6 Hurst Edition (6spd). The owner said to get a rebuild kit and head bolts. Anyone know of any good sites or any links to a good buy? Not looking for performance really but keep it under $1000- $800. Thanks.

The owner said that theres a lifter knock and a bad head gasket and that a top end rebuild kit comes with a head gasket. He has LS7 Lifters for the car.

He says it misfires when he starts it and that white smoke comes out if the exhaust. I drove it yesterday and the knock gets louder and the rpm goes up. The white smoke i can confirm.

Hope you're getting it at a really good deal.

Look at the sponsor section on this site or plunder through the for sale section. I'm sure you can find what you need

You could probably find a set of 243/799s heads which will increase hp for 500 $ or less
MLS head gaskets aren't that much.
be sure to change that oil ASAP

Are you doing the wrenching or someone else ?

I will be along with some helpful friends under watch from a master mechanic for 30 something years and a graduate from Ohio Technical College. The instructor will be guiding me and showing me how to do it.

I'm sure he'll tell the truth. There's nothing that brings out honesty in a person more than having them delve in to being a used car salesman!

Don't run away from the car like it's on fire, light yourSELF on fire and run away so you have proper motivation to run, because you don't seem to already. SOunds way too shady dude.
