Default Quietest Gears for a 12-Bolt Rear?

Hi all,

I've been away for a long time, but I'm back now. Tomorrow, I'm buying back my '99 Firehawk that I sold 8 years ago. It only has 22K miles on it and still looks great. The only problem is the 4.10 gears are noisy. I would like to get them replaced with a set of 3.90's. Can anyone tell me who makes a quiet gear set for a Strange 12 bolt rear? I heard from a shop that installs gears that the gears supplied by Strange are strong, but not always very quiet.

Thanks,
John

I found a set of Richmond 3.90 gears that will fit my 4-series carrier. Anyone have experience with Richmond gears?
Thanks,
John

Depends on when they were made. The motive (when properly set up with quality bearings) have been the quietest we have seen, used, and installed. We have them available as well.

Thanks for the reply. I would like to buy from supporting vendors. But, I checked your website and the 3.90 gears you have are listed for a 3-Series carrier. I currently have a 4-series with 4.10 gears.

We can get nearly any gear out there. Just because we do not have it on our site, doesnt mean we cannot get it! I am fairly sure that Motive has it (also because motive bought richmond a while back). I will check into it on monday for you! (or tuesday if they are closed monday for memorial day weekend)
