Default Deepest/Loudest Exhaust Setup for 01 WS6 .....

That does NOT include Dumps before the axle

I am trying to decide what setup I want to go with on my WS6 , and want to achieve this and avoid dumping the exhaust to achieve it .

A friend of mine has a 2013 SS Camaro and has True Duals, TSP 1 7/8 Headers and an Electric Cut-Out right after where the Header meets the Exhaust, and it is Literally one of the Meaniest / deepest sounding cars I have ever heard .... Even at Idle, it rumbles and sounds like it has a Cam ( but t doesn't )

Anyways.... Just wondering what I can do to my 01 WS6 to achieve as close to possible this sound that his 2013 SS has .

Get the exact same setup ?

Thanks for the help and advice

You could do Lt's into a ory then put a electric cutout then a catback of your choice.

I run Lt's into a ory then a electric cutout with a stock cat back. Here is a video of me at the track with my cutout open. The car I'm racing is a stock ws6 so the exhaust you hear in the video is all from me. At idle it also has a deep rumble. I don't always have it open because it's way loud.

This is not a good thing -> Does she like this because it give her time to get the other guy dressed and out of the house???

as long as you are running a Y pipe you will have difficulty achieving a similar sound. plus there is a bit more displacement between the ls1 and 3 so take that into account as well.

I had corsa on my 414 with longtubes and an off road y pipe, loud as **** but sounded like a hot mess above 3000rpm (no resonater) ended up going back to a B&B tri-flow which I love has a similar low end sound but is not as raspy in the higher rpm's.

but to illustrate the difference in a Y i pipe vs duals, I personally would never put Borla on any of my cars I have never heard one that I liked granted they have a distinct sound but I just dont like it. I bought my GTO with kooks longtubes no cats and borla.....wouldnt trade it for the world. Earlier this year I heard another ls1 gto with Corsa exhaust and true duals and thought it sounded way better than my setup.

I would start searching some youtube vids of soundclips and you may stumble across something you like.

lol. I was always told that the cool kids got to ride on the short bus.

Thanks for posting the video, that sounds great! I'm in the process of finishing building a new house and garage where this will be an early project.

Did you do your cam and the exhaust at the same time? If not, did you notice a bigger difference in sound or performance when you did one or the other by itself?

Catted Kooks TDs is the easy answer. Save your pennies but its well worth it.

Well I did the kooks true duals the same time I swapped engines.
It's a iron 6.0, LS3 heads, Tooley 229/244 cam.... so I can't tell you how it does performance wise vs a Y pipe setup. Otherwise I paid 1200 bucks for the exhaust shipped. It sounds pricey but by the time you buy a name brand Y pipe and a corsa exhaust system you could by the kooks true duals for the same price or maybe even less.

I'm with Danny.....GMMG and LT's are the best sounding combo!!! I don't have that set up, but like them. I do like the rasp I have though. LOL

I have had lt and GMMG, but I now have Kooks LT and true dual and to me it sounds even better than the GMMG.

A y-pipe setup doesnt even come close to the Kooks TD's in deepness, there is zero rasp and its pretty damn loud. GMMG or any other catback+y-pipe setup wont ever compare.
