Default Does a SLP Loudmouth exhaust add H.P.??

I recently purchased a 2002 "WS6" 2 WEEKS AGO with 17k Miles. I just put in a SLP LODMOUTH EXHAUST. Does anyone have proof or dyno results that this exhaust adds horsepower??? The only other mod I have is a "K & N" air filter and which is just so I wont have to replace an air filter every oil change or so.
I plan to put in a SLP Y pipe this weekend. Do you guys advise that?? Get back to me on that guys!!!

Thanks for your help.

The factory WS6 exhaust actually flows pretty good but didn't have enough rumble. I ended up buying the Magnaflow catback which gave me more of the muscle car sound I was looking for. You might see a few hp with the LM over the stock system but I think it's mainly a sound thing.

the SLP y-pipe only replaces the stamped flat section of the y-pipe.

Well I was one of the people who bought exactly what you are getting ready to do. The LM sounds great in my opinion but I don't know if adds that much power, I would say maybe 5 h.p. The y-pipe is NOT worth the money. Honestly you are looking at like 1-2 h.p. I love the sound of the LM and wouldnt trade it but the y-pipe was a waste. save yourself some money and don't get the y-pipe.

The SLP Loudmouth is actually the BEST flowing exhaust out, followed by Magnaflow...

SLP LM flows ~2000 CFM
Magnaflow ~1200 CFM

The TSP Rumbler should flow about the same as the SLP LM, they are a similar design...

Don't waste the money on the y-pipe. Save the money so when you do headers then you do the off road y-pipe. Everyone loves the loud mouth but when it gets too loud they replace the resonator with a bullet and they love it. No cats on any exhaust will make it louder. WWW.LS1SOUNDS.COM

i agree with Angus, wait for headers. I have a LM with a stock cat and it sounds good. I have heard it going two ays with headers, either its to loud or people still like it.

i heard the GMMG was pretty good, on adding HP and very loud sounds, it's a little more expensive but it will give you more HP/.

hehe, Im in the same situation and looking for a exhaust. Local body shop around here has Magnaflows + Flowmaster... I don't know which ones are good. I would order them off the internet if someone would come up with a good match for me. I'm looking for a good exhaust (semi-loud) that I can rev it up and be heard loud and clear.

Default Does a SLP Loudmouth exhaust add H.P.??

I have Loudmouth on Stock Car, It's Loud but not a daily driver so it is bearable.
I had the LGM Y pipe but never got it to stop knocking so I went back to stock and am sooooo happy. Quieted up the Loudmouth also.
Its a Cali car so I don't want to hassle with the smog ****'s over longtubes so for now I wont be changing any exhaust stuff .

To my knowlege the SLP LM adds around 8-12 rwhp. As for the y- pipe I would just keep your stock one until you get headers. Mid Sept I will be adding headers. I will be doing a custom y-pipe with high flow cats and a flowmaster y merge collector. For great info read all of JRP's stickys on top of these pages. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=139142

Oh and mine is a daily driver and I love the sound. I don't get why people say the Loud Mouth sounds like crap, I love it.

Im thinking of getting a TSP rumble exhaust and it has a bullet in it instead of a resonator. Will the rasp be less with the bullet?
