Because GM was having some trouble with the consistency of the color. They didn't have any consistency, so they canned it.

Though I'm not sure if he's registered on ls1tech, my buddy has a BPM trans am ws6. Below are the pictures I have on my site:

In addition to the pictures, here's a letter that was sent to him by Jim Mattison:

Your TA is blue! I want to paint mine that color. I need the paint code though.
I`d like to see some more pics of your TA. I have only seen 1 WS6 TA this color and that was back in '02 and I haven`t seen one since.
Whats your paint code?

Make yours number 2!!! hahaha Had to search almost 3 years to get mine, but I'm glad I waited, almost went and bought a yellow C5 vert before this one came along!! I believe there is 3 on this site, one being a ws6.

I'm not posting a live link since they're not a sponsor of this site, but look up Pontiac Historical Services in your favorite search engine. They should be able to help you out. I know at one time Jim Mattison was associated with them (and he still might be with them).

I guess I can join the mix now that I have a T/A also.

I'm probably the only guy anywhere that has two of them.

The packet I got from PHS for my Trans Am was without a doubt the biggest waste of money I've ever seen in my life. First of all, they sent me little more than a photocopy of a T/A brochure... a very poor quality copy of the general production numbers for that year.. and a window sticker with OBVIOUS TYPOS and INCORRECT INFORMATION. No letter like that, and nothing more than I already knew.

I've written them back to get it corrected and gotten NO RESPONSE.

Screw PHS.

That's good to know. I've always wondered that myself.

The guy I know with the BPM lives just South of Indy.

Congrats...

Were the Goats the same shade of purple as they tried on the Trans Ams, but with a different paint color name? In my mind's eye, they appear to be very similar
