Default classic bird tire q???

hello i have a 69 firebird and am looking for bigger tires. its got new rear springs and there stiff as hell so i wanna fill up the wells! right now i have 265/50/14's on there and they are way to short to even get near filling the wheel well there is a good 2-3 inch gap from the top of the tire to the fender. now i want to get some 15x8's on the back with a set of 275/60/15 BFG DR's will that fit on my car? thanks to all who reply

You might try asking in the Wheels & Tires forum too, they get a lot of 'what size wheels' and 'what size tires' questions there

I had a 67 firebird and I was able to run 275/60/15 no problem! That size really fills out the wells nice and gives its a mean look. You should also be able to stuff 295's in there too, they are close, but not too bad.

yep, 275/60/15's will fit provided you roll the wheel lips and run the right offset on the wheels. Most 15 x 8 with a 4.5" on a stock length rearend will work.

4.5" backspacing will allow you to "tuck" the wheel/tire under the car better, IMHO.

thanks for the replys here are some pictures of how my 265/60/14's on a 14x7 look i have about 3 inches taller i can go and about 1 ince of clearence to the inside of the fender ( twords the trunk ) this is why i was considering a 4 inch backspace and as on mentioned i would fit a 295? what offset was that? i would love to do that im in the market for some skinnys up front and the bigger out back the better. thanks again
