Default HVAC controls not working properly

So after swapping the new motor in my T/A, I noticed my vent controls for the HVAC systems do not work at all. I move the selector from floor to dash etc.., but it jsut keeps the air blowing on the floor at all times so.. my question is, does anybody know the vent control system well enough to know what triggers the air mix control doors to move? I noticed I have some vacum tubes which appear to head in to the evap case which has at least one open end, and I have no idea where on earth the line that should plug into it goes. Any help would be greatly apprieciated!
