Basically they provide all of your cars documentation they can. You get a bunch of paper work. Jim Mattison owns the program, I think its pretty cool. Go to www.phs-online.com for more details.

I did and wish I hadn't. I thought it was kind of a waste of money. Basically what I got was a package full of Xerox copies of stuff that really was meaningless to me.. Just brochures and stuff. Nothing on the production information, no build sheet, and the window sticker they sent me had typos and incorrect information on it. I wrote them a letter to try and get it corrected and got no response.

Like I said, waste of money.

I did it recently, and I thought it was pretty cool. You get all kinds of vehicle-specific information. I got build dates, dealership info, all kinds of specs on the car, and some other stuff that isn't available to the public.

I got the window sticker and paid the extra three bucks to have it laminated.

Overall, I think it was well worth it.

I got mine. I love it, it is also the way I found out my bird was an NHRA edition.

You get like over half an inch of paper ranging from the build order, build numbers, package options, advertising data, more tech specs than one ever needs to know, etc.

I feel it was worth the money, I keep it all in a binder and show it with my car at shows and get togethers.

I used PHS when I had my 1970 gto. It was kind of neat to get the info. But hardly neccesary. If you are looking for searching for hidden gold by getting the PHS I suggest you buy a shovel and start digging on an island in the carribean. If you still feel that you need to spend your money foolishly, send it to me and I will figure out what to do with it.

IMHO PHS is useless for anything that is not at least 20 years old.
And, no Chevy doesn't so anything like this...

Just a question but why would you want a PHS on a car that is newer? e.i. a 4th gen bird?

Default hit and miss

sounds like a hit and miss situation. some of you received more than others. maybe it depends on the vehicle.

i'm the second owner of my t/a. the original owner kept all of the window paperwork. he even put the owner's manual in a zip lock baggy.

according to carfax he bought it with 9 miles on it. he put 66k miles on it and traded it in. that's when i saw it and had to have it.

only 1025 ws6 t/a verts in 2000. i wonder what number mine is.

for $35 what the hell. since there is such little info on the 4th gens why not.

i'll post the docs when they come in.

I got it for my 1980 Trans Am. It was worth it to me. Got the some cool information about my particular car. It's not expensive, so it's worth it to me.

If you're an information junkie like I am, it's neat to see all the factory paperwork for your particular 'bird. PHS just recently started doing up to the 2000 model year (I've been keeping tabs on them until they did), so I took the opportunity to get more info on my car. I'm the original owner, so it was cool to get all that extra info.

My 'bird also came with dealer-installed tinted windows, and the window sticker was gone. Getting a copy of it from PHS was also very cool.

Ah I see, well I guess it would be cool to have the window sticker.

So they should have decent info on the 99s?

As mentioned by others, the amount of info varies between cars. Your car could end up having more info than mine or visa versa.
