Default v6-ls1 swap.

I know its been done on here before the search isnt finding it. Ive got both components I need a 98 firebird and an LS1....so how hard would doing a swap actually be? Money aside that is. Or would it be much easier for me to just sell both and look for an LS1 car.

Get a tboned or, preferably, a rearended LS1 donor car. Just a matter of swapping parts over then. That's assuming you have a 98+ Firebird. Otherwise it's pretty much the same but a smidge more work, which someone else might have to chime in for.

Youd have to drop the motor, and switch all the wires/speedo/random cutting to get it in right. Might as well buy a used LS1, easier and way cheaper.

You don't need to switch all the wires or speed or cut anything. The speedo, while only 110mph, should work still, since we can use 98+ Speedos in LT1 cars. The wires all you'll need is the dash forward which is all going to just plug into each other. Dropping the K Member out will make it so you don't have to cut anything.

Oh, and you'll need to springs from the donor car too. The V6 are a lot less lb rating than the V8s. Check the LT1 section, there's the Newbie FAQ with all the part numbers for LT1s, get the LE1 springs.
