Default Hey looking at a car

Hi, im not sure if im posting this in the right spot or not, and im sorry if i am. I'm looking at a 1984 trans am for sale but it sounds a little strange and i wanted to know what you guys think on this. I'd call but i dont want him to keep calling me if im not interested. Anyways here is what it says:

"New GM Goodwrench crate motor. Rebuilt OD trans. New 4 whl disc brakes (rotors, calipers, pads, lines), decent tires. Brand new shorty headers. New starter, batt & water pump. Nds new radiator & oxygen sensor to be hooked up. Nds vy little to be on the road. Engine has less than 1000 mi, trans has about 1500 mi. Comes w/spare TCI turbo 350 trans out of my Camaro w/about 5K mi on it since new. Body is in fair to gd cond, no nd to replace any sheetmetal on it. $1500 for everything."

Any opinions or help appreciated

Well I assume he's fuel injected it or something, since it's using O2 sensors o_0 Not sure why he also put in a 700R4 over the stock TH350...

Hard to give any good opinion with out pics.

WIthout seeing the car or at least some pics, I would be very suspicious. Some armor all and paint are what a lot of "New Crate Motor" claims really are. The TH350 was not stock for 84. Either way, I would be very leary of the work a guy did swapping the motor in a third gen, and then not having the ability to hook up the O2 sensor???

Oh they used the 700 in 84 huh? Learn something new everyday. Is it TBI? I mean, I know the 85 or 87 Monte's had a computer controller 4bbl, but I don't know if they used an O2.

4 Speed overdrive (700R4) showed up in the pontiac F-cars in 1983. Optional in base, standard for Z28/Trans-Am. Car should be a dancing needle (E4ME Quadrajet) 305. It is either an LG4 or L69 for a Z28. The 305's used an oxygen sensor to help the CCC determine how to operate the primaries (the dancing needles). Not to bad to work on, they aer very fun cars.
