79 TA Engine swap
Hey all, looking at swapping my 403 Olds for an LME 408......any ideas on what I'm gonna need to do to get this to fit? I know I need the new harness..Thanks

frame mounts and possible front crossmember/oil pan clearance issues may arise.
Check out the conversion forum to see if anyone has attempted this swap on a '79 model. I know one member did an LS1 swap on a 76 'bird.

LME is a sponsor on this site... the 408 is an iron block LQ4 with like a 4.008ish bore and 4.0 inch stroke or something similar... anyway, its an engine regardless. And yes its doable, a guy from back in Missouri did one into his 78 camaro, and it fit pretty good, just had to modify a regular set of pacesetter headers to fit... but not a big issue... ls1 with a Trex... guys are from 417 motorsports... good luck...
