Default Shifter on the column

I have one of those rare shifter on the column automatic 1967 Firebirds. My shifter handle is pretty loose and the shift indicator plastic is horribly yellowed.

I can't find a single vendor yet who carries any steering column parts for the automatic transmission. (Do you know of any?)

I was told to check out Chevy truck restoration parts websites and those that I've called either haven't a clue or only have it for a manual transmission.

Is there anything I can do -- including replacing the entire column -- to solve this? I don't mind buying a new column and parts if it will fit in my car. Price is no option.

But I need to get this done, that loose shifter irritates me and let's face it, the rest of the car looks so good and that looks so bad, especially with a non-threaded shifter **** duct taped in place.

Uhm, those are vendors I already buy from who don't carry what I need.

I'd have to say then there isn't a large enough market for the parts you need, so no one is reproducing them yet.
