Doing an inside gauge would likely be easier than drilling the hood or rigging up a stand to hold the gauge on the outside. Keep in mind if you run an inside gauge with a feed line (instead of electrical) you'll need an isolater.

Leave the old hood mounted gauges to the old school muscle cars. Somebody would probably just steal it anyway.

im kind of a old school guy so i like the look, it would be cool if someone had some pictures, i dont mean to disrespect but i find gauge pods to be kinda RICY!!
