I just got a new job in Manhattan, which means instead of driving 41 miles round trip to Jersey for my old job I'll be sitting comfortably on an express bus into Midtown. Best part is that my already lower-miles-than-average 2001 T/A (54K) will probably hit 55K in June! I want this car to last me another 30 years, so I'm real happy that I'll be able to keep the miles low.

im glad your saving on wear and tear. im also glad when i pull out of my driveway im on the open road and not a red light for 15mi w/ 65mph speed limit. mass transit must be a bummer...

Nah, it's kind of relaxing since the speed limit on highways here is 50 and regular roads is 30. Also, there's a traffic light or a stop sign on 98% of the intersections in NYC. With the express bus I just sit in a cushioned seat for 45 minutes. I pick it up 4 blocks from my house and it drops me off 2 blocks from my office.
