Well one of my headlights is going out, I was wondering how many of you have converted from Sealed Beams to those conversion housing that allow you to use a H4 bulb?

Any Luck? other wise I was thinking of just getting some Silver Star sealed beams

My friend got 'cheap-o' eBay ones on his Vette and they work fine. He removed that inside cone that goes around the top of the bulb though too heh. You'd think it would be a reflector but the inside of the cone is just dull and wouldn't reflect the sun if it had to.

I've been wanting to do this mod, but I think I'll just get some Sylvannia Extra Visions (I like the yellow light myself)

I don't buy anything on ebay.

I posted plenty of housings and where to get them in the second thread above.

I bought my projectors from Rally Lights and they also carry the 150mm, 165mm, and 200mm conversion reflector housings. For the 1993-1997 Firebird, you would need the 165mm version.

You'll probably want this one:
" HL21100A -- Two 165mm Free Form Lamps with Hella 60/55w H4 Bulbs. This kit only includes one pair of bulbs -- $97.20"
Or you can spend more and get higher output bulbs, but you'd need to upgrade the car's wiring with a heavy-duty relayed harness. I don't know if that kit comes with the rubber boots and adapter/wire. You may have to call/email them about it.

Here is a wiring/install overview:
http://www.rallylights.com/useful_in...mp_upgrade.htm
Its for "GM Blazers (95-97) and S-Series Pickups (94-97)", but it sounds like the wiring colors are the same (at least they match my 2001 Firebird).

Def. give them a call as they are very helpful over the phone and ship quickly.

I put the sealed beam conversion kit on my Trans Am but it uses H7 bulbs.
I had the Silver Star sealed beams but they burned out to quick.

Sylvania SilverStar bulbs are known for their short lifespan.

I picked up my Xenon Conversion kit from EuroLights, and so far, I Love them!
They are 1,000 times brighter than your standard Halogen "yellowish" crap! They produce Natural, Bright White light with a hint of Blue that Projects pretty far out in front of you! I'm throwing some pics up of them installed on my '95 T/A, tried to get some decent pics, but it's hard to with headlights! The first pic is the Xenon on the pass. side VS the standard Sylvania Halogen Sealed Beam that is found on our cars; on the Drivers side.
You be the judge!

when i did this on my other vehicle, i used Hella housings.. better quality than the Ebay **** or the Pilot brand.

silverstars live hard and die young.. not worth it IMO... again, i went with Hella... superior bulbs.

Any down the road shots? Looks like a lot of glare to me but the lamp color is better looking.

Yes, it is my Shitty Cell Cam lense! Plus, it's hard to get a good shot of them when they are bright and on, but No, there is no Road Glare to other drivers!
I've tested it, and there is no glare!

No, I don't have any down the road shots yet, maybe I can get my wife to take a pic while I'm driving here soon.

Actually I'm not kidding. Until I see some pattern shots up against a wall from 25' or so I'm going to assume there is glare from an HID lamp put into a housing meant for halogens. I don't just say this stuff to be a jackass. Do some reading on halogen housings with HIDs.
