Default 15 mpg?

Whats goin on? I read where people are getting 20+ mpg...Mine is at 15...I drive fairly conservative...I get one it every once in a while but not near enough to justify getting 15 when others are claiming 7-8 more mpg...Is there anything to check or that mite be causing it....I am going to seafoam my car when the weather warms up hopefully that will help a bit...I have an 02 t/a

With 90% City driving I get 13-17mpg. (usually 15mpg)
With 90% Highway driving I get 20-22 mpg.

Engine/Exhaust/Transmission are stock.
I do have an aftermarket Lid & Filter though.

Manual cars are the ones who get the best mpg, but yours looks about right. Give it a tune up, change the fuel filter and go from there.

I have the exact same setup with only 30K miles and im averaging 20mpg. Might want to do a air and fuel filter, tune and pcv.

I had crappy milage too in september (just before I parked the car for the winter) until I had my friend log a few runs...
Turns out my front o2 sensors both shat the bed and were doing some really odd stuff, even at WOT were they normally would shutoff.

Nothing that a trip to canadian tire, 198 bucks and 2 chevy knuckles couldn't fix.

Last fall the g/f and I packed our bags and drove from Penticton, BC to Vancouver, BC. Our best milage was 750kms on one tank with speeds between 110-125km/h... and about 10-15 minutes of 180+ just past kelowna. Damn freeway...
That was on a tank of 94 octane and works out to 31.25miles per US gallon.

Our worst tank was actually our very first one which got us from Grande Prairie, AB to Hinton, AB...
Just over 500km on that tank using 92 octane (its all we have) which works out to 20.83mpg.

The rear end gave me greif on the way home and turns out the pinion bearing was pitted bad and the race had the hard surfacing coming off.
2nd day we were home, the factory 3.23's came out and new 3.73's went in along with all new bearings and seals.

The above milage numbers were done before the new O2's and before the 3.73's. Since these changes were made just before the car went into storage, I haven't really had a chance to see how much my milage has changed. I hope its not too drastic of a change

I do pretty much 100% city driving (2.5 mile commute each way, half of that is getting in and out of my apartment complex and the parking structure at work), and I can't remember the last time I got double digit mileage.

I get about 17mpg on a pretty set 50%hwy and 50%city commute. I have a cam, bolt-ons and that's still better than yours. You should check everything filter related and replace any that don't look almost new.
