Default Project 78 Firebird Skybird

Well after sitting all winter, it was finally time to dust the bird off and get it out for a drive. After 7 months of sitting in the corner, got in it, hit the key and fired right up. Long story short I had a fire with my 72 Camaro, when that car was pushed out of the garage to keep the garage from burning down, it rolled down the driveway into our all original 78 Firebird Skybird. The body is in decent condition for being all original with 60k miles, but after this, we had to hang a new rear 1/4. I figured Id get it out and get some pictures after it was fixed and painted. Next step is to fix the lower door rust, and the rot in the lower front fenders. And repaint the rest of the car. I have all brand new trim modlings for the car, the rings around the wheel wells, and the stripe kit. This is a Skybird, which was only made in 77 and 78 and is somewhat rare, so unfortunatly the car has to stay blue. My mom was the 1st owner of this car, bought it brand new in 78 her senior year of highschool. I also built a motor for this car last summer that has been sitting, but will go in soon.

The To-Do List:

Swap motor & trans
(355ci small block stock bottom end other than pistons, 2.02 heads ported and polished, edelbrock air gap intake, holly 650, dynomax longtubes, lunati cam, ect ect ect just a cruiser)
Fix Lower Door, and fender rot
Replace trim moldings
Paint
Do a little bit of suspension work (shocks & springs lower the car)
Id "like" to get new wheels but that wont happen for quite some time, because I want a set of 17x9 and 18x11 CCWs for it.
New headlights, maybe HIDs for you kids

On to the pics!

Right after the 72 smashed into it:

And as of today 4/23/07 after hanging new 1/4

Oh, well then, I assumed because you were doing a transmission swap that the bolt pattern was the problem.
