Well since you don't like eBay, there's CarPart.com which is a junk yard search engine and the yards also rate their parts for quality, and GMPartsDirect which if you have the part number (call the dealer for it) then you can probably get one from them. The catch: It'll be new, but it'll be pricey. Yet you were going to the dealer anyways so that might be of no concern to you.

They won't sell many parts, no, but they CAN get you the part number, I know that for a fact. It's odd they can't get tail lights though since 4 years ago I went in and was able to order (I didn't though) Fog Lights and brackets for my 91 Firebird...

Well, true, but couldn't you call a dealer in the US? Skype or a calling card MUST work. Hell I can give you the number to a dealer here with a great service department. You must forgive my ignorance, but if you speak as well as you type in English, then you shouldn't have a problem getting a P# from them.
I'll check this P# section we have in the LT1 forum quick and edit if I find the part number.
EDIT: Alright here we go, it had them. Now, if the part numbers are still good, not sure. The "formerly" is, well, the old part number heh Doesn't hurt to try that one either.
Firebird taillamp assembly (98-02) (honeycomb), RH = 10431948 (formerly 10439148)
Firebird taillamp assembly (98-02) (honeycomb), LH = 10431949 (formerly 10439149)
RH $184 and LH $190 on GMPartsDirect :S
