Default 67 or 02 which one is better

Okay I have just recently obtained my first ever sports car. Its a 2001 Pontiac TA WS6. I have never felt anything this powerful before!!! I would like to know your opinion on what year(s) the best (or your favorite) firebird was released, and why. Sounds like an essay ? huh???lol

Obviously I'm runnin with the 98-02 TA WS6. The ram air hood on this car is just so intimidating. The performance is amazing (it is an LS1) and the feel in the drivers seat when you've just top-ended that bad boy is the rush of a lifetime. I've had it for some time maybe 9months and my p*ssy rate has gon sky high!!! hell I'm only 22 I have a lot of energy!!! I love every single aspect of this car!!! I got it from my dad and he had it since 2001, before I even had a license and it is literally my "dream car" and now I'm livin the dream!!! I'm goin wit the 01 WS6

Definitive 98-02, I use to had a 71 455HO 4speed, almost stock on the engine. When comparing to my 99 WS-6 AT I say the 99 is faster in any aspects. It is crispier in the response, handling and brake is superior, looks of the last T/A is outstanding.

The 4gen 98+ is superior in all- even as a chick magnet

And to compare with a 67……

I'd have to say the 98+ Trans Am's are my favorite, but I got a thing for the older Pontiac engines too ...

I've had a 79 Trans Am, 88 Formula, 96 Z28 (i know, not a firebird), and now a 2000 Firehawk. The hawk is by far the best of the 4. The 79 was bored out, Holley 4 barrell, open headers, 355 racing slicks in the back. It was loud and somewhat fast, but the Hawk would leave it like it was standing still. The 88 was slower than my 80 Thunderbird and I got *** raped by a 95 Impala and decided I needed to get something newer. The 96 was a decent car, had the LT1, but the LS1 Hawk is just ridiculous.

Newer cars I like GM, older cars I like MOPAR. So, 4th Gen for sure.

They are both "better" at different things....the only real answer is both.

The only thing we should be debating is what color is best...and we all know the answer to that:

Yea, that hugger orange is really nice in the Nova

Dig the Ole Bird, not the convert or the rims though.

Its a protouring car with modern running gear and suspension....it had to have been wheels to clear the brakes. Its beyond well done.

Couldn't you run 18/19" Vette rims?

I know this is heresy, but I liked the hard muscle car lines on my old Thirdgen Formula way more than the soft bubble look of my 02 Z.

Then again, I would have needed a cam and heads to equal the power that my Z has STOCK...and I'd have gotten half the gas mileage.

I love the look of the 4th, the 98-02 WS6 in particular. But I if i could afford it I would have a 69 TA too.

93-02

not sure on years... probably 95 for the LT1 cars (vented opti, no obd2) and 02?

i was never a huge fan of the 67-68 fbodies, 69 looks a bit better, but i prefer 70+

I'd also love to have a black/gold 1982... it was just such a radical change from the 81's and as a kid growing up watching knight rider, i've always loved the 82-83 black/gold T/A's

You can't compare a 1st gen with a 4th gen other than name they are 2 totally different cars. I'd take a 67 over an 01 any day. 67 Firebird Formula 400 was the fastest production car for that model year.

If I had to chose between the two, I'd go with the older one, just because I wouldn't lose money on it.

If I had to chose color I would go with the 02 Pontiac TA Ws6 LE. Very few enjoy the appereance but I love the way that yellow looks flyin down the freeway, a real attention grabber!!! Anybody know how many of those were made???
