Quick Question I have my eye on a 98 Firebird Formula. Its a 1998 Firebird Formula WS6 with 90,000 miles. Automatic, 4 speed. Sport Gold Metallic.
I've heard that they did not make such a car, but the owner says he knows for sure that it is indeed a factory car. Any ideas as to if this is a true car from the factory or not? I believe it is, as the owner is the second owner, and the first owner is his best friend. Both owners are >50 years of age and have not raced the vehicle.

The VIN alone will not tell you if a car is a real WS6, but the door decal will.
You CAN run the VIN through a dealership's computer system to look up all the RPO codes for that car, and then check that list for "WS6" (same as checking the door decal). OR, I'd be glad to check the spreadsheet for that VIN# to get the ASC build#, which would also verify a legit WS6 car (PM it to me if you want).

Formula numbers are hard to come by because of SHITTY record keeping by GM. That is the FIRST time I have seen the breakdown for the 99 WS6 Formula.
2000 is really hard to find info for also. All Ive ever seen is the number of Formulas made and the number of WS6s and that is it.
