I only know of two, both 6 speed manuals and the best times I've seen are 13.8s @ 104. These are more difficult to launch and get traction on the track then the automatics.

Another on one of the forums couldn't break into the 13's, his 60' were in the 2.50's and he had the same problem. Just couldn't launch with the 6spd.

so why are they much harder to hook up? a 4th gen can do much better. just curious. although i ran mine with a g meter, and ran a 13.8 with traction issues. i suppose with a better tire it would be much better.

Well, it's a brand new $40K car, so I'm sure that has to weigh on your mind just a bit...

Compared to my old WS6 the new 09 GT is a pain to keep traction right off the bat. The little lady got on the gas the other day and we had the traction control off she won't drive the car anymore LOL. I can only imagine how hard the GXP is with those skinny tires on them. I am going to see if I can get some 275's in the back on ours at least.

!Traction GXP/GT = 245 tire, 18/19" rim w/ little to no sidewall. Avg. 60ft I see is 2.0xx, w/ myself being a part of that category w/ a 2.08 best.

I don't know what everyone was expecting with 19 inch wheels.

They look great just don't go straight great. A set of BFG drag radials on 16 or 17 should work well. Does anyone know what the bolt pattern is for the G8 I have a set of WS6 wheels in the garage still.

5x120 lug pattern

the 11 second HOB TT G8 had 17 in firehawk wheels IIRC with Drag radils and hooked like champ.

16s won't fit over the rear brakes.

That was a set of CCW wheels. Skinny fronts and wide rears, the "Drag Pack." Not cheap.

You can use Fbody wheels, 17x9, with 26/11.50/17 MT ET Streets.

I have been able to pull a best of 1.89 60' time on the same 19" rubber with a norm of a 1.9X time with my G8. One thing to consider though is the suspension differences between the GT and GXP. The GXP has stiffer springs, shocks, and biggers anti-sway bars. All of these things usually hurt on a drag type launch.

Huh, these numbers are disappointing. Even with traction problems the trap speed should be up. The 13.0 at 109 sounds accurate for the weight/power/gearing, but 104 traps is definitely not good.
