Default My GT drive

So I went to my local dealer today to drive the GT. I'm going to get one in mid-May, early June. I told them that I would have $10k down and would need my payments around $300/mo. He said that that could be done. So he goes to get they keys and comes back saying thta is manager told him that he didn't want me to drive the car, fall in love with it, then not be able to buy one when I'm ready to do it. lol "Since they aren't making them anymore, what we have right now is all we will have for the rest of the year." I told him I was not concerned that there will be no cars around in a month or a month and a half. He goes back to his manager and comes back ready for the drive. Get done driving and and he says his manager would want to talk to me. I kept telling him I was not going to buy today and my hands were tied on that fact (despite him saying that they could postpone my first payment for 60 days).

But I love the car. Last time I drove it, it was dark and the car was about out of gas. I got to check out all the options today and I'm very excited. I told them I would need to be going out the door at $26k for a GT with premium and sport packages. He said he didn't know if he could get it that low and I told him I knew he could because of I knew of a couple people that got one for that recently from them.

So we'll see what happens in a month I guess. Any advice on haggling them? I can go as high as $27k. I'm going no sunroof so it won't be loaded.

If he won't work with you, go to a dealership who will.

Hey GMC are you in St. Louis? I would totally drive there for that price from Lincoln, NE. So Juiced, is yours an early '09? What were your guys' sticker prices at before everything? The only problem is that there are not that many Pontiac dealerships in my immediate area. Damn small Nebraska!

The one I want has 69 miles. lol It's their demo for now. This one was panther black and had sport and premium packages and tint. Had the two tone red and black interior. They have the sticker at $33.2k. They said that the 0% was extended through April but didn't think it would stay around for until mid-May which is when I'm looking at getting one.

I don't know about early 09 or not... My MSRP was 34,990. Both packages and the roof.

I thought that was one of the cars that they were going to continue to make in Pontiac's department. Everyone's sticker is over the one that I want and they best go down on price or I will hope that people here will help me find a sort of close one to here.

I could be wrong, but I believe there was an extra $2,000 cash that dealers got for G8's before April 1st...so any vehicle purchased after April 1st would only get the $3,000 rebate. This may be one of the reasons it seems he is roughly $2K higher (when you factor in the sunroof) than deals others got.

Are you getting the GM loyalty as well? IIRC its still 500-1000k on certain cars.

26-28k is a great price for the car regardless though. Especially if you can get 0% on it.
