If you purchase the GXP front brake kit, it's a direct fit bolt on to the G8 GT.

Yes, I have upgraded to gxp front brakes and ss lines. All of the gm parts will bolt up without a hitch. Just make sure your wheels have adequate clearence for the larger calipers.

I only got a GXP to have a stick and LS3..

I did the camaro ss brake swap front and rear and this car can STOP. Total conversion including powdercoating came out to 1100.
heres pictures

the rear calipers

If you do use the camaro brakes, you will need 14mm bolts and will need to drill the wholes in the knuckle larger to accomodate the larger bolts.

The Camaro Brembos will work and it does appear they're cheaper. And they are an improvement over the GT set up.

SLP has an ebay page listing the rear Camara kits (takeoffs). Not bad for $350.

I wish there was a way to do the rear swap and retain the emergency brake as well.

Default Camaro SS Pad Modifications?

That looks absolutely fantastic (I bet they stop great too). I have a G8 GT with 19" wheels. Some of the other sites said that the pad weights may need to be removed so that the stock 19" wheels will fit with the SS Calipers. Did you remove the pad weights? Does anyone know what the pad weights do on the stock SS calipers? Anyone see a problem with removing them?

Stock brakes are good for stock power. I just upgrade my brakes to feel safe during spirited driving. But my stock brakes were warped and this was an easy and cheap upgrade. It really sets the vehicle off nice as well. Also makes pad changes alot easier.

Stock GT breaks actually stopped quicker than the GXP Brembos according to some magazine test.

However, I don't know if they can take the pounding over and over like the GXP Brembos.
