Default Header question

Anybody have headers with the rest of their exhaust stock? If so how quiet is it? It's my wife's car and it can't be too loud, but I also want some performance gain (so no axleback) cause I drive it too. I was thinking headers would do the trick. It's a g8gt btw. Current mods are rotofab, ported intake/tb and dyno tune.

it'll be pretty quiet. You'll get performance gains but the stock cats and muffs are a huge restriction so don't expect too much.

I just want it to be a little bit louder than it is and not break the bank with a 1000$ catback. I'm thinking some pacesetter headers, maybe an axleback later on if it's still too quiet.

I have 1 7/8" Kooks LT's w/o cats & stock mufflers. It's just about as quiet as stock at idle and low RPM cruising (no drone). At WOT it's louder than stock, but not obnoxiously loud... from in the car, the Vararam is louder.

My wife approved, I'm sure yours would be ok.

I have the set up you're looking for on my GTO and I love the way it sounds. Like someone else said, quiet when you're barely on it, but it's still got a deep tone. Then when you go WOT it's still deep but a bit louder. I dig the sound of it.

Yeah, I used to have an 06 Goat with just headers, but the goat sounded decent from the factory at least, it was quite a bit louder than the G8 stock.
