Default New Track and Dyno Numbers

Round 1 mods included a Vararam Intake, Solo Performance Axleback's, and a dyno tune for 335 rwhp and 346 rwtq.

For round 2 I went with American Racing Headers 1-7/8" long tube headers with catted x-pipe and an SLP underdrive crank pulley, along with a dyno tune. The tuning was done with the car in 4th gear and then the final pull was done in 3rd to keep the numbers consistent with my previous numbers.

Round 1 vs Round 2 dyno graph, both pulls in 3rd gear:

And if anyone is interested, here's the 4th gear pull:

My last trip to the track with just the cold air, axleback, and dyno tune had me running 13.17 @ 106 mph with a 2.04 60'. The car never spun, I would just do a small burnout, bring the rpm up to just over 1000, and mash the gas.

I went to LVD last night with hopes of coming home with a 12.99 timeslip. I was also hoping that the extra power would be enough to get me a 1.99 60'.

According to dragtimes.com the DA was between 1800 and 1200 last night.

First pass in I ran a 12.82 @ 108.4 mph with a 1.98 60', but I forgot to hold the trans in 3rd gear and it was in the middle of shifting into 4th as I was crossing the line. For the rest of the runs I held it in 3rd.

The runs went as follows:

12.75 @ 110.04 with a 1.959 60'

BEST PASS
60': 1.954
330': 5.429
1/8: 8.251
mph: 87.50
1000: 10.670
1/4: 12.708
mph: 110.41

12.749 @ 109.96 with a 1.958 60'

12.713 @ 110.19 with a 1.956 60'

12.715 @ 110.71 with a 1.970 60'

Overall I couldn't be more pleased with the car as I easily hit and passed my goals for it. I might take it back later in the year and see if I can improve on the numbers in better air, but as far as mods go I think I'm done until my Z28 is back on the road.

Lebanon Valley Dragway. DA was between 1200 and 1800 the whole night, he said.

Great results. I think that car surprises the hell out of people for the mods. Just a full exhaust, cold air, pulley, and a tune and you're running well into the 12's at over 110 mph in mediocre air at a mediocre track, and in a 4000 pound four door sedan, nonetheless. That's awesome.

Thanks guys!

The mph is very close to what I was hitting with my Z28 with it had the same mods, so that makes me very happy.

Nice numbers and great times. Kooks headers and a UDP are my next round also, then a stall and dyno tune.

I'm hoping for some better times next time out with my current mods since I'm not running bald stock tires any more. Guess we'll see what happens. I love surprising the **** out of people in my 4dr

What tires were you running at the track BTW?

Yeah. I love my car. I have just CAI and Dyno tune and so far have run a best of 13.40@106 in 80 degree FL weather. Headers are going on next week

OP, what RPM are you shifting at? I think I could run a better time if I shift into 4th earlier than I am.

Stock summer tires (19" wheels).

I have it shifting at 6300 rpm. I hold the trans in 3rd so that it's not in the middle of shifting 4th as it crosses the line. On my first pass I didn't hold it in 3rd and I ran 1 tenth and 2 mph slower than the other runs.

I have mine shifting @6450 cause it was still making good power on the dyno till then, Im not shifting to 4th either. My 60FT is between2.0 and 2.06 every time. Maybe it's just the air here. DA is usually 2-3000.

When I launch mine do a short dry burnout and then I stall it up to just over 1000. When the lights come down I hammer it and I haven't had any traction problems. I can stall it to just about 1500 without the tires spinning at the line, but when I've tried that my 60' hasn't been as good.

I haven't had trouble with spinning either, it dead hooks even on street tires. My 60's are never over 2.1. Thanks for the advice, hopefully I'll have a 12 sec slip when I get my headers on.
