Default New G8 DOD delete package from Livernois Motorsports

Here is a video of a customers 2008 G8 featuring our stage 1 DOD delete package.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0lg7HuxLPE

This package consists of the following:

Livernois Motorsports Stage 1 Camshaft Specifically engineered for 6.0 engines using L92 heads
GMPP LS7 Lifters
GMPP Balancer Bolt
GMPP LS2 Valley Cover
GMPP Valve Cover Breather Block-Off
GMPP LS7 Camshaft Sprocket
GMPP Timing Chain Dampner
GMPP PCV hose for non-DOD applications
GMPP LS2 Lifter guide kit
GMPP MLS Header Gaskets
ARP Camshaft Retainer plate bolts
ARP Timing Chain Bolts
ARP Head Bolts
Cometic MLS Head Gaskets
Livernois Motorsports Exclusive Dual valve springs good to .690" lift
Livernois Titanium Retainers
Livernois Motorsports Super 7 locks
Livernois Spring Cups
Livernois High-temp Viton Valve Seals
Trend Performance .080 Chrome Moly Pushrods

This package includes everything needed to delete the DOD system on your G8 and pick up a good amount of power as well. Expect Horsepower to be in the 425RWHP range with supporting mods such as Long tube headers and CAI.

In addition to the parts included in this kit our install package also features new antifreeze, Royal purple synthetic oil change, and new NGK Spark Plugs. This all comes with our professional install service along with our custom Dyno tune backed with Livernois Motorsports Full workmanship warranty.

$2899 installed and tuned

For parts only it runs $1239

This customers car had a roto-fab intake, Kooks 1 3/4 LTH, kooks catted x, and the kooks axleback system. The only other modifications done to this about our stage 1 package was a CNC valve job and a cleanup on the deck of the heads. There is zero port work done to the manifold, or heads...

I would imagine without the valve job it would be about 15rwhp less...

I saw this graph of it posted on another board.

I guess it's got a stock baseline, a "bolt on" modded car w/ roto-fab, kook's headers and exhaust, and a tune. And then finally with the DoD delte kit...

Good work guys

Thanks for the kind words guys... We were very pleased with the results considering there is zero port work done...

Does the cam require a converter? Also does the car in the vid have a converter and if so what's the stall on it?

This cam does not require a converter, but like on all G8's it definitely would benefit from one, but it's not required. Also, the car in the video has a production converter in it.

How well would this cam respond to a supercharger. If I put a magnacharger on it with 6 PSI with the cam is this a good set up? How much HP do you think it would make to the wheels?

I know a couple of guys that have used this cam, Livernois has used it on a stock shortblock LS2 w/ a procharger making over 650 rwhp through an automatic. They also have used it on a 404 stroker and a procharger making over 750 rwhp through an auto...

I have used it on NA and boosted apps, it's has never disappointed me

If you set it up with the new mp1900 blower and 6 lbs, I would guess around 500-530 rwhp... But turn the wick up to about 10 lbs and see what happens

Is this package suitable for a daily driven (in heavy traffic) street car?

This cam is our recommended cam for daily driver status, it's got just enough lope to remind you it's not stock, but not so much that it bucks or hitches with a stock converter. Even TBSS guys love this cam, and they have more weight to lug around and a worse intake manifold.

Trust me, it would be tons of fun... the roads hopefully will still be clear here on Monday so our customer can get some time behind the wheel... more vids should follow...

Can we get a rough idea of what the cam specs are?

This looks like a killer deal!

What would you recommend for as far as a converter for a G8 with this kit you're selling that's daily driven?

really it doesn't need a converter, but if you wanted one a PI 3000-3200 would be awesome with it...

Thanks George for posting that link op to the cam specs. For some reason (and I will have to get with Rick on it) the specs on our site is incorrect for that cam.

It's actually 224/230 .581/.590 with a 114 LSA...

I thought that was a pretty large split regarding the exhaust duration.

The G8 you guys did that made 441 to the wheels I was wondering what it made stock. Most of them are barely breaking 300RWHP and I know that Michigan's cold weather and lower altitude can help make for good stock numbers. A 140RWHP gain from a cam, headers, cat back, CAI, and valve job is super impressive.
