Hey everyone, just bought my G8 GT 90 K on it one owner great condition...love it!! Im always tinkering I finished my other car and decided it was time for real American muscle. I'm still in the new car paranoia stage, I think I'm hearing a slight tick when idling but still could be paranoid. I take it in this week to get a full inspection so we'll see what happens. And everyone is talking about the DoD delete kit. I just wanted to kno how beneficiary it would be to do this, or just screw it and swap the cam and the converter... I'm looking for quick clean power not breaking the budget or the car. Going the muffler delete route, and going straight pipes and of course cold air ram air. I wana push 400 horse or over and I'd be happy. I'm looking for parts but don't kno where to get them. So any input and suggestions would be great! Thanks

We have done more G8's than just about anyone. Take a look at our proven packages and give us a call.

Thanks for the input and further into digging I figured out it wasn't the ls2 and that everyone locally had no clue what they were talking about. And I gave Livernois a call and they set me straight.
Like I said though any suggestions are appreciated. And if you guys have a suggestion on exhaust headers, do tell.

I had a clicking noise with mine and everyone that heard it said it was a bad DOD lifter. I did the DOD delete kit with a cam, but all the lifters looked fine (still glad I did it because I gained a ton of power with the Livernois cam). The noise ended up being a cracked flexplate.

Vararam or roto fab...looks like vararam performs a bit better but I'd like another point of view.

Most of the fastest N/A G8s are running the Vararam. To get 400+ at the wheels you'll pretty much need to do every bolt on including intake and TB, or bolt ons and cam will get you there. Depending on which year you bought yours may have the first style of DOD lifter that seem to have more failures than the Delphi lifters that later came out. Some guys have had good luck running DOD cams, but even the aftermarket ones can fail too. +1 on the custom tune.

Do you guys' run premium or unleaded. I don't know if the gas I got was just bad or I have a further problem. My friend told me it had a pretty fowl smell. Any clues?
