Default G8 needs some sound

I am looking for a good cold air intake and cat back for my 09 GT. I think I'm narrowed down to the Spectra CAI and Mac Solo unbalanced cat back. If I get the cat back now and later get long tubes will I run into any issues doing it this way? Any other cat back or cai you'd recommend? I'm looking for a good sounding exhaust with little to no drone

The Spectre intake is good, and you can get it for around $100 through Advance Auto. If you go this route along with a tune (which you SHOULD), get the Spectre 4" MAF housing (swap into the CAI directly) and an LS7 MAF from Amazon. The MAF dramatically increases the poor throttle response. Replace the Spectre filter with a better quality unit. The provided filter is pretty crappy.

The catback will work well with any of the major headers on the market. Some will bolt directly to it without any adapter pipes.

Regardless of what aftermarket exhaust you go with, the DOD will sound horrible. Have it disabled when tuned. Fuel economy difference will be negligible.

What filter do you recommend? How do I get the 4" housing?
I plan on doing DoD delete, replace cam, lifters, rockers... I'm looking to see which oem parts would be best as I can get the oem way cheap

That's it. It swaps directly into the Spectre CAI for our cars. The tune MUST be adjusted for the housing and MAF.

I used an AEM dryflow that I got on EBay really cheap. I don't remember the part number.

I just purchased the spectre CAI on adavanced auto's website. Use promo code TRT30 and the total was 117 with tax.

If you do the ls7 maf swap, do you still need to do the hsrk kit?

No. My IAT stays within a few degrees of ambient at all times.
