I don't like the Charger interior at all, part of why I went with the Imp. The G8 interior looks really nice. Where else can you get 360hp for 30k.

Thanks for the info. I'm still interested in this car, pending more pics and pricing info.

They started out at 32k, then in the fall, they dropped! Gm is charging too much for there product! Dont get me wrong, ive owned nothing but GM cars. THis is just rediculous.

Well, Dodge doesn't seem to have a problem selling the crap out of the Charger R/T and it starts at $30,755, which is the G8's main competition. This car will appeal to a larger crowd then the GTO because it's a 4 door and actually has a huge usable trunk. Plus it looks awesome, while the GTO looked like a big cavalier. Again, the G8 isn't supposed to be the GTO replacemant, it's more of what the Bonneville/Grand Prix SHOULD have been. A large powerful RWD family hauler.

I'd be content with the GT personally. IF there's a GXP you know it's gonna be over 40 grand.

Expensive and fat

Under 30,000 is good for what you get. My 96impala almost cost that.

You dont find it impressive that a 3995 lb pontiac , can handle and brake within a whisker of the nimble 3500lb bmw and lexus IS350? Aussie mags consistantly get 13.5 @ 105 with the same car.

Yea Guys Your Missing The Point Here The G8 Is Suppose To Compete With The 3-5 Series Bmw Its Not A Race Car

If I Was Gonna Buy A Sedan This Ar Would Seriously Be Looked At 30k For A Car Like This Is Gonna Be A Good Deal

Although We All Want Factory Ready Race Cars The Majority Of The Generals Customers Ovbiously Didnt Like That Approach

(hence The Death Of The Fbodys In The 1st Place)

It's better then the LS2, mainly due to the L92 heads stock & L76 intake.

It isn't supposed to be a GTO or Firebird. It is supposed to be an all around nice 4 door sedan with good power, good brakes and good handling. I think it meets the bill and will be my next car. That way the T/A can stay parked.

No kidding. It seems like some of the people here think its 1990 or something.

When the cheapest V-6 Accord you can get starts at $25k, this car looks like a downright steal.

V-8, 6 speed auto or manual, IRS, and I'll run the quarter in the low 14's with 5 passengers. $30k is overpriced? You gotta be kidding me!

Over 40K? I dont think a GXP option is going to add over 10k to the base price of a GT. The car may be overpriced, but come on a 10 thousand dollar upgrade package, i dont see that happening.

Okay let me rephrase. With any options will be over 40 grand. It will be close to it. Look at the Charger R/T vs the SRT 8. Almost 8 grand more. I'd figure it's gonna start at atleast 37k if it has an LS3 in it. A fully loaded GT will end up in the mid 30's.

Not sure why so many are bashing on the G8. While I admit I would love for that thing to come in around 3600 lbs, it does not seem like 4000 is that far off for a larger 4 door rwd V8 sports sedan. Granted I admit I do not really follow the sedan market or trends and freely admit that I am not sure how the G8 will compare to some of the other sport sedans in size or luxury, but a quick internet search showed that most of the competitors I could find offering V8 power plants were all coming in between 3800-4400 lbs with most of them being near the higher (BMW, Mercedes, Lexus, etc.). Now if this thing will only come close to competing with them in ride quality with similar amenities, then it should fly out of the showrooms being that it will sale for close to 1/2 of some of those others. Who knows, maybe the G8 will do for the sports sedan market what the C6 Z06 did to the supercar market (I doubt it but we can hope).

Dodge charger and chrysler 300 sales are doing well not because of performance. Most of the ones they sell are v6's and have 24's on them. Target market is african americans who want big cars that LOOK luxurious but are affordable and can fit big wheels easely. I say chrysler is succeeding pretty well.

I dont see the G8 being as big of a hit as the charger or the 300. I would prefer owning one over a dodge because the powerplant has so much potential but again... I'm not the target market.

Pontiac always look to bland and every model had the same body lines. The GTO looked like a RWD grand am and that's why it did not catch on.

You guyz have to keep in mind that it's always the lower end version that keeps a platform alive. Mustang GT's and Cobra would simply not exists if it wasnt for the gazillion of v6 ones that were sold.

Obviously you've never had your car on a scaled...

t/a's weigh 3600lbs
