Default My new Car-Cam DVR budget setup

This is a general FYI for anyone else interested in a economical, easy, and capable little In-car DVR setup for those races you really want on film without the added weight of a passenger.

It will record a compressed avi file for each start and stop of the record function up to 60 minutes worth. To get the videos on your PC, simply flip the USB connector out of the camera and plug it into a open USB port. The PC will recognize it and treat it as a "memory stick" device that you can use like a hard drive.

Simple, and it comes with built in video editing software on the camera.

This is the Camera I bought: Got it for $150 on sale at Bestbuy.

This is the mount I bought: Got it for $20 at Bestbuy.

Here is a small test video.

Best GTO camera setup I've seen was a custom fabbed bracket for a camera similar to that one, but they mounted it on some guage pods.

The guages were like this.

The bracket went straight up. I forget where the thread was though...

That's a cool Idea! I saw one like that for a IPOD, but it was a little ghetto to me.

Yeah that setup was in a pretty modded out car. I'm pretty sure they didn't dd it. Just street/strip racing

The camera is mounted to the Inner headrest pole on the passenger seat. The headrest is then pressed down as far as it will go to further brace the 3 leg mount.

I will post pictures asap... as well as some videos from Wednesday night King Of The Hill races.
