Default Buyin some mickey thompson et streets..

how much time do you think goin from street tires to drag radials should shed in in the 1/8th mile? ive ran a 8.02 when i hooked really good on street tires before in my A4 LS2, cut a 1.90 60', wonder how much ill shed on the 60', any ideas?

M/T drag radials should get you a 1.6-1.7 60ft easy.

I am an A4 and my best 60ft so far is 1.58. You will definately benefit from them.

The one thing I did that really helped me was taking my tire pressure down to about 14psi. It's amazing how high the psi goes after a burnout and run down the track. I was finding my tires at almost 22psi after a run.

Basically what I did was start at 20psi and work my way down. You certainly don't have to take them that low, but that's where they hooked best for me. I made several runs the same night and 14psi netted me the best 60ft. Hopefully others will chime in and give you some other tips on where to start. I can't say my methods are all correct, they just work for me.

If you look in my signature, click on the "first 1/4 mile with 427". That was my best run at 11.52 @ 117mph with a 1.58 60ft. That was the run I dropped to 14psi. I don't have that motor anymore but I should be running about the same times.

not to shabby...the nearest 1/4 mile is 150 miles away...think it would be a neat expirience!

ya for sure, no point in buying them if you dont heat them up right? im going this friday so it should be interesting, any guesses? ran a PB of 8.02@89.6 with a 1.9 60', never have hit a 60' that low, usually 2.0Xs, and 8.1Xs..

Hmm, is guess youll run 7.8x best and 7.9x all day. U should be able to pull off a 1.7 60ft. with brand new MT E/T radials, i got a 1.7 60ft with a shitty *** burnout. Given your times though, with a decent burn out your gonna dead hook!

1.9x's are decent for a street tire--Im guessing you werent spinning that much on that launch. With your level of mods I dont see you getting much lower than 1.8x's. If you are still running the stock convertor you are limited to how hard it will hit off the line with an A4.
