I have NOT done it on the new goats... but on an older GM car, all I did was remove the bolts from the motor mounts, jack up the engine (don't ask me how), and I was able to slip the pan out and replace the gasket

yes, there are a number of ways to do this. I actually have to take mine off for a new gasket as well, all i will be doing is unbolting the motor mounts, tranny housing and 3 fly wheel bolts, and unbolt the headers, then pulling the motor up approx 7-8 inches with my engine hoist, and droppin the pan. shouldnt take no more then 4 hours. That is probably your easiest way of doing so. Once the headers are unbolted everything else will go up approx 7-8 inches, that is all the room you need to unbolt and drop the pan. All you need is the proper tools. IE: jack with jack stands, new pan gasket, and the other tools needed.

You can’t do it without either removing the front subframe or lifting the engine. Lifting the engine is fairly easy on these cars. Dropping the cradle you should do a cradle alignment when done, not everywhere will be able to do this.

Default Oil Pan Leak and Shop Fix Costs

Most threads on GTO's are old but just in case you have an Oil Pan Leak in 2015:

GM shop found oil leak and under my warranty are willing to fix it at no cost to me. They are positive it is the Oil Pan? Charge for this is 1800.00 to warranty company for this. Have had my car for 4 days fixing it since approved.
