Intake mani upgrade?
I'm wondering which intake manifold would be best for my goat. I have an 04 M6 with a K&N intake and Magnaflow catback. I'd be getting it at the same time as long tubes (most likely Kooks) w/ high flow cats and a dyno tune soon after. That would probably be the extent of my mods for the foreseeable future. I think the general consensus is that the Fast 102mm is the best/nets the most gain, but I'd really like to keep it to around $500, and the Fast units are about twice that much. Right now I'm thinking of going with the BBK SSI piece. Does anyone here have any experience with it?
Also, does a new intake manifold essentially require a throttle body upgrade to see major increases or could I leave that alone? Thanks for your help.

Thanks for all your replies. For the TPIS mod, if it already come with the LS6 manifold all I'd have to do is get a new TB or port the stock one right? Or am I missing something.

No need to port or change the TB. A stock LS2 throttle body will mount up to that with no fab work or modding. The TPIS Intake snout(TB plenum) is 90 mm which is exactly the size of a stock LS2 TB. So the only dfference in a ported LS2 TB on the TPIS is about 300$ missing from your wallet, unless you get the the TPIS snout ported, which I'm not sure if its possible or beneficial. I say save your money and dont port the the TB. Gains will be minimal at best.

Don't waste your money on an intake at this point in the game. It doesn't represent a restriction in your all-but-stock motor, especially since you have an 04 with the LS6 manifold. Your cam/heads are the things that are holding you back right now.
A cam swap would suit you much better. Then heads. Then intake manifold. Then clutch. Then spray. Than rear-end parts. Then......,.

Yeah, that's the way I'm going to go. I thought a cam swap would be much more involved than it is and I wanted to keep it simple cause it's my daily. But a mild cam won't be bad and with headers and a tune I should be looking at about the 60hp+ bump I was looking for.

How is the torque with that cam? I don't want to sacrifice a bunch of low end torque to make top end power. And do you (or anyone) know anything about TPiS and their cams? Their ZL9 seems like the best performance/$$$.
