Default screwed up my exhaust now i need help.

Hey guys...New here and need some help.

I have an 06 goat. I just got it not too long ago. I decided i wanted my exhaust to be a bit louder so i took it to my local exhaust shop and had them slap some flowmasters 40's on it and remove the resonator. Now i feel like the car has lost some power and i am pissed that i spent 230 bucks to make my car slower. My mechanic told me to put some magnaflows back on there to get some power back, I am trying to recover some money here and want to buy my magnaflows off of ebay, and i have no idea which ones to get. Does anyone know which magnaflows to put on the 06? I guess i need to know what style/size and type of muffler to get.

Thanks.

Do you know which magnaflow to get? Its hard to search for that because the full exhaust kits come up when you search for them..I just need the muffler.

Are you sure your car is slower or does it just feel slower? A lot of times a loud exhaust will make you think your car is slower because the exhaust is so loud.

just cut them out,...add some bullets. Chambered mufflers are for the birds.

When they cut your resonators out, make sure they put in an h-pipe or spend the money and get an x-pipe in there. With either an h or x it will sound a lot better

also will make some extra power/torque depending on which you go with.

a4LS2Goat- any timeslips I can look at. I run super 40's and didnt notice a difference, until today. After my FAST install, I opened my cutouts for the cruise today and on the street was spinning all of 2nd and the first part of 3rd. Definitely noticed a little bit more power. Completely forgot to open them at the track yesterday

To be honest with you, unless you're pushing some serious power, you probably didn't lose much. Mufflers are mostly for sound, there are very little gains. Now flowmasters do suck ***, and any magnaflow muffler will flow just fine. Just get one that has the right inlet/outlet dimensions (2.5/2.5 if you have stock piping) and you'll be fine.

I run the Magnaflow 14016's in place of the stock mufflers. They are around $60 a piece at summit. You could also do the 14416's if you wanted polished.
