Default Smashed up Goat.

Okay, so here's my deal, I am looking for an LS1 on a budget. I was looking at a GTO that is a bit crumpled. The front bumper is off of the car, the door has a big dent in it and the front fender is crumpled up. The car will also need a headlight. Pending no frame damage, this is all repairable. Correct? The only reason I ask is because my dad is an old school mechanic and he thinks I'll never be able to fix it because "All new cars have the unibody construction." Just wanted to know about the difficulty of this fix. Thanks.

should be... Have any pictures of the damage? replacement parts for GTO's can be pretty spendy and some times hard to find.

I was looking into buying an 06 gto that was totaled and needed a front clip, lights and possilby the frame rails straightened and the costs of the parts is was turned me off. I believe the price of an aftermarket hood for my cost (worked at a body shop) was like 1200 dollars. This for an ls2 hood though.

If there is frame damage you can take it to a body shop who has a frame rack and they will tell you if it needs straightened and if so, they will get the fenders and hood to all line up right. Could cost quite a bit in labor.

Don't have pics unfortunately. It doesn't look all that bad though. From a little research it looks possible for under a grand

almost anything an be fixed. If your able and willing to do the labor yourself, and buy used parts it MIGHT be worth it.
