Default clutch problems???

for about the last week i have noticed that when i get home or to work it smells like burnt clutch, even when driving normal. havent got on it since i noticed the smell. clutch pedal also feel pretty soft, just got the car a couple of weeks ago so not to familiar with them, does this mean that the clutch is about to take a ****. just wondering if i should be prepared. car is stock and has 52k on it,

first thing......

what's the clutch fluid look like in the reservoir? Black and murky? Use a turkey baster and suck all of it out, refill, pump pedal a dozen times, repeat process until you have good clean clear fluid. You may even want to drive it around the block a few times and check it again.

and if you need a clutch, depending on your "other future mods"... go with an LS7 or a clutch kit from Hendrix Engineering

yea clutch fluid is definatly very dirty and looks dark and has something floating around in it, any clutch fluid u reccommend i use? what would explain the smell? plan on doing intake exhaust and tune only since i daily drive it. i will be looking into a ls7 for sure

unfortunately the fluid is only used to release the clutch or disengage it. But..... if when your pressing the pedal in and it's not fully disengaging the clutch the disk is then still applying pressure.

I doubt it's the problem, but I'd give it a try.

I would go ahead a replace the clutch and and slave. LS7 clutch is a good replacemet and a/an fbody slave cylinder will save you some money compared to the stock replacement.
