Default Shift **** question...

I've read the GTO came with a push down/lock type shift ****. Is there a way to thread it so it can be used on an fbody?
Perhaps a universal insert that can be attached in there, that's got a thread pattern so it can be screwed on?

Or... other ideas?

I've read other just shove some JB weld in there, put it on the shifter, and call it a day.

But that's more of a permanent thing, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

I have a GTO **** I'd like to use on my Fbody. I'd like to thread the **** if possible onto my stock shifter. Is that a possibility?
Is the LSS for GTO going to fit on a stock fbody shifter? They look like they bolt in the same from the pictures.

it won't fit on the 5 speed anyways, with the 6 speed shifter, you can change just the stick, with the 5 speed, you have to change the whole damn thing... it won't work, unless the threads are the same.

If you don't have a gto shifter. I cant help you. Look for aftermarket t5 shifters.

Thanks, I am. However, the LSS for the stock GTO **** has what size bolts/threads? I'd like to know so I know which aftermarket shifter to purchase in combination with the LSS.

i would assume he meant it looks difficult to drive because its a 6 speed not because thats the shortest short throw shifter in history and implied "the man" pedal as the clutch to go back to its a 6 speed saying only men drive 6 speeds???? thats my assumption lol

Alright, anyone know if the silver face (with the shift pattern) is removable without ruining it or the ****? Looks like it's just glued on it somehow...
If you haven't seen just the ****, I can provide pics.

Is there a replacement piece that can be swapped in, should the original break? Or is it all sold as one-piece?
