Shift knob question...

Shift **** question...
I've read the GTO came with a push down/lock type shift ****. Is there a way to thread it so it can be used on an fbody?
Perhaps a universal insert that can be attached in there, that's got a thread pattern so it can be screwed on?
Or... other ideas?
I've read other just shove some JB weld in there, put it on the shifter, and call it a day.
But that's more of a permanent thing, and I'd like to avoid that if possible.

u can buy a lous short stick, they give u the option of using the stock style shift **** or a threaded version like u want, check out afterthoughts auto, thats where i got mine and am pretty happy with it. i got the one that uses the stock **** bc i like the stock look.

it won't fit on the 5 speed anyways, with the 6 speed shifter, you can change just the stick, with the 5 speed, you have to change the whole damn thing... it won't work, unless the threads are the same.

i would assume he meant it looks difficult to drive because its a 6 speed not because thats the shortest short throw shifter in history and implied "the man" pedal as the clutch to go back to its a 6 speed saying only men drive 6 speeds???? thats my assumption lol
