May be unrelated, but I recently saw spotting under my 06, came to find my radiator was cracked just beneath the cap. 40k miles on a stock car, but I read it was a common problem with them because of the weight of the condenser. Don't know if you still have the stock setup, but if you do, something to look for.

had a local shop do it. held it at 18psi for 3 hours without leaking but later that day n since i get random coolant spot splash on the under side of my hood. checked the oil to make sure its not murky, its fine. rules out the head gasket.

May sound stupid, but check the cap.

Mine went bad at about 60k, for no reason. Figured it out only because I smelled some coolant and saw it had dribbled down the plastic end-tank.

Replace it with a GM cap, not an autostore brand.... made that mistake...

Did you do the pressure check while the car was hot? It may be a small crack in the radiator where the metal and plastic meet. The heat will cause both to expand and allow the crack to leak. Thats what happened with my 04'.

i had a local shop do it as i didn't possess the tools. i assume they know what their doing. the technician told me to just watch it and put allumiseal in the radiator if i was worried about it. think im gonna have a different shop pressure check it just for good measure. i can do the work myself just don't have a pressure tester...i unplugged the fans(so they wouldn't blow any possible coolant around) and let the car warm up and looked for anything leaking and could not find anything. i'm stumpped

GM Seals are generally better than most other aftermarket ****.

I also suggest radiator cap.

car needs to be driven for a while and brought up to operating tempature. then do the pressure test. this will make a difference.

I've used stant stuff for years, I'm not saying their bad. I've just always preferred GM stuff for piece of mind.

Then again I don't think I've ever had a radiator cap fail on me on a GTO, it's usually other **** that fails before anything else. 120+ temp's in the summer out here time make short work of the cooling systems in these cars.

It most likey has the common harline cracks on the passenger side tank. It will leak or fail more likely if doing a pressure test when its up to normal temp. My had barely visible hairline crak on the passenger cap side tank. So take a good look closely.

update, installed a new water pump and it did the trick. no more leaking or squealing. it was about a 3 hour job casually working on it with some beers on the side.

Squealing??? Oh I must not have read your 1st post good, Yea lol a leaking radiator wont make a bad water pump squealing noise. So I could have told u long time ago in the post to check your your pump.

For everyone here go to harbor freight and buy a stethoscope then if you would have touch the pump while it making that bearing squealing noise it would give you a more pin point where the noise is coming from.
